Lower Cooper Park

Overview
Located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Lower Cooper Park in Double Bay is a timed off-leash area. Dogs may be exercised off leash between 4:30 pm and 8:30 am. Council signage specifies these hours, and during the remainder of the day dogs must be on leash.
The park is known for its wide open grassed areas, seating, and walkways. There are poop bag stations and shaded benches, providing basic amenities for dog owners.
Owners should know that off-leash use is not permitted during daytime hours outside the 4:30 pm–8:30 am window. The park is unfenced, so reliable recall is essential. Dogs must be under effective control at all times.
The area is close to the Double Bay shops and cafés, and is accessible from Bunna Place in Double Bay, making it convenient for combining walks with local errands.
Lower Cooper Park is best suited to social, moderate-energy dogs that are comfortable off leash during restricted hours and able to respond to commands in shared open spaces.
Lower Cooper Park is managed by Woollahra Council.
