Lower Phoenix Park

Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner West within the Canada Bay region, Lower Phoenix Park Dog Park in Rhodes provides a fully fenced off‑leash dog park offering a secure and sociable environment for dogs and their owners. It forms part of the City of Canada Bay’s series of permanent off‑leash facilities developed after extensive trials and community consultation.
The dog park features double-gated entry for additional safety, along with amenities including a water station, waste bag dispensers, bins, and bench seating. It is well-lit for evening visits, allowing usable off‑lead hours from 6 am to 10 pm daily.
As a fenced facility, it is especially suitable for apartment‑dwelling dogs, puppies, shy or social dogs, and those still practicing recall. The off‑lead schedule accommodates early‑morning and after‑work routines, while the infrastructure supports both convenience and safety for owners.
Lower Phoenix Park is situated on Shoreline Drive in Rhodes, with on‑street parking available nearby. It also connects directly to the scenic Rhodes foreshore path along the Parramatta River—ideal for extending walks after off‑lead play.
This park is best suited to confident, social, or developing dogs that benefit from a contained, secure off‑lead space and owners who appreciate extended hours and convenient foreshore access.
Lower Phoenix Park Dog Park is managed by City of Canada Bay Council.
