Spit Reserve (West)

Overview
Located in Sydney’s Lower North Shore, Spit Reserve (East and West) in Mosman are unfenced off-leash areas with beach and water access.
Both reserves are scenic foreshore locations, but they operate under different time restrictions depending on side and activity.
The reserves are known for their harbour-front beaches, grassy foreshore lawns, and water access for swimming. The area is connected by paths along the water and signage clearly indicates off-leash zones. Street parking is available nearby.
Owners should know that Spit West has weekend off-leash restrictions: on Saturdays it is closed to off-leash use between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Spit East does not have these weekend time restrictions for beach and water use. On weekdays, both East and West allow off-leash beach and water exercise all day. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, both allow off-leash before 9 am and after 4 pm in beach and water zones.
The reserves are close to local cafés and shops around The Spit, and offer harbour views and walking tracks along the foreshore.
Spit Reserve (East and West) are best suited to social, water-loving dogs with reliable recall who enjoy beaches and shared harbourfront space.
Spit Reserve (East and West) are both managed by Mosman Council.
