Wentworth Park Off Leash Area

Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner City, Wentworth Park in Glebe provides one of the largest and most popular off-leash areas managed by the City of Sydney Council.
The park is unfenced and expansive, with wide open fields, sporting grounds, and tree-lined sections that create a lively, community-focused environment. Its size and central location make it a well-loved destination for dog owners from across the Inner City and Inner West.
The off-leash space offers large grassy lawns with plenty of room for dogs to run, chase, and socialise. Shady trees and seating are scattered throughout, and the open design makes it easy for owners to supervise play. Parking is available nearby, and the park’s scale means it rarely feels overcrowded, even during peak times.
Because the area is unfenced and bordered by surrounding roads, reliable recall is essential. The grass surface is generally well maintained but can become muddy after heavy rain, particularly near the sporting grounds. Water facilities are limited, so bringing your own bowl is recommended.
Wentworth Park is close to the Tramsheds precinct, Glebe Point Road, and Darling Harbour, giving owners plenty of options for cafés, restaurants, and shops before or after a visit. Its foreshore location also links easily with walking routes along Blackwattle Bay.
Wentworth Park is best suited to energetic and social dogs that thrive in large, open environments and enjoy mixing with others.
