Mavlab Animal Health

Mavlab Animal Health is a Brisbane-based, family-owned Australian company founded in 1970 by Dr John Lamberth, a veterinarian who identified a gap in appropriately dosed medicines for animals. Over more than 50 years, Mavlab has grown into a manufacturer of over 250 products across the animal health and grooming markets, with most products developed and manufactured in Australia at its GMP-licensed facility in Slacks Creek, Queensland. Mavlab was notably the first veterinary manufacturer in Australia to achieve ISO 9001 accreditation, which it earned in 1994.

Dog owners in Australia will most commonly encounter Mavlab through its Fido's Pet Care brand, a third-generation family brand offering grooming products, flea and tick treatments, wormers, and supplements. Other brands in the Mavlab portfolio include Avitrol (bird care), Equis (horse care), Nature's Answer, and I Love My Pet. Mavlab's products are sold through veterinary clinics, pet specialty retailers, and online channels across Australia and in 24 countries worldwide. Mavlab is privately held with no parent company.
