Norbrook Laboratories
Overview
Norbrook Laboratories is a family-owned veterinary pharmaceutical company founded in 1969 by the late Lord Ballyedmond in Newry, Northern Ireland. What began as a small manufacturing operation in a converted mill has grown into one of the largest privately owned animal health companies in the world, now ranking among the global top 20 manufacturers of veterinary pharmaceuticals. Norbrook is vertically integrated, manufacturing the majority of its own active pharmaceutical ingredients across five production facilities, and exports to over 100 countries. The company generates annual revenue of approximately £219 million and holds over 3,000 product registrations worldwide. Norbrook has established subsidiary operations in key markets including Melbourne, Australia, as well as the USA, New Zealand, Brazil and Kenya.
For dog owners and veterinarians in Australia, Norbrook's companion animal portfolio includes Loxicom (a meloxicam-based anti-inflammatory for pain and osteoarthritis), Midamox (a parasiticide for heartworm, fleas and intestinal worms), and Enroflox (an injectable antibiotic). Norbrook positions its companion animal products as cost-effective, bioequivalent alternatives to leading branded veterinary medicines. Norbrook Laboratories is privately held with no parent company.
