PetO was founded in 2006 by brothers Nick Greenhalgh and David Rowe, opening their first large-format dog and cat store in Brookvale on Sydney's Northern Beaches. In 2024, a landmark acquisition of PETstock-divested stores — including Best Friends Pets, Pet City, and My Pet Warehouse — expanded PetO to 58+ locations nationally and approximately $200M in revenue.

Now Australia's largest specialist cat and dog retailer, PetO stocks over 5,000 products across 200+ brands — food, treats, pharmacy, toys, bedding, and accessories. Still proudly family-owned, with 250,000+ PetO Pals loyalty members and a long-running partnership with Sydney Dogs and Cats Home.
