Vetoquinol is a French veterinary pharmaceutical company founded in 1933 by pharmacist Joseph Frechin in Lure, north-eastern France. Listed on Euronext Paris (VETO) and majority controlled by the Frechin family through Soparfin SCA, Vetoquinol ranks among the top ten veterinary pharmaceutical companies worldwide. The company develops, manufactures, and distributes veterinary medicines and non-medicinal products across companion animal and livestock markets, with a direct presence in 24 countries and products available in approximately 100 countries. Vetoquinol entered Australia in 2014 through its acquisition of Bioniche Animal Health. Australian dog owners may recognise Vetoquinol through Zylkene, a natural calming supplement for dogs and cats. Vetoquinol employs more than 2,500 people globally.
