News Corp
Overview
News Corp is a global media and information services company headquartered in New York City, originally founded in Australia by the Murdoch family. The company's roots trace back to 1923 with the establishment of News Limited in Adelaide, and it was formally incorporated as News Corporation in 1980 by Rupert Murdoch. In 2013, the original News Corporation split into two entities: the current News Corp (focused on publishing, digital real estate and information services) and 21st Century Fox (broadcasting and entertainment, since acquired by Disney). Lachlan Murdoch assumed control of the company following Rupert Murdoch's retirement as chairman in 2023.
News Corp's connection to the dog industry is through its subsidiary HarperCollins Publishers, which publishes The Forever Dog by Rodney Habib and Dr Karen Becker — a number one New York Times bestseller focused on canine longevity, nutrition and lifestyle science. The follow-up, The Forever Dog Life, expanded the series with recipes and practical guides for dog owners. News Corp is publicly listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker NWS.
