HarperCollins is one of the world's largest English-language publishers, founded in New York in 1817 and operating today as one of the industry's "Big Five." The company was formed through the merger of Harper & Row and the Scottish publisher William Collins, Sons, both of which were acquired by News Corp in the late 1980s. HarperCollins publishes approximately 10,000 new titles each year across more than 120 imprints, in 17 languages and 18 countries.
Its catalogue spans fiction, non-fiction, children's books, religious publishing, and reference, with authors including Nobel, Pulitzer, and Man Booker Prize recipients. In the pet health space, HarperCollins has published titles by Rodney Habib and Dr. Karen Shaw Becker, including The Forever Dog and The Forever Dog Life.
