Overview
Primrose Park spreads across the foreshores of Willoughby Bay in Cremorne, mixing playing fields, urban bushland and quiet harbour pockets. It runs as one of North Sydney's main sportsgrounds — football, hockey and cricket on the main fields, plus four tennis courts, enclosed cricket nets, change rooms and clubhouses. The brick buildings on the lower slopes belong to North Sydney's first sewage treatment works — the engine house, tunnels and canals are still visible, and the surviving structures now house the Primrose Park Art and Craft Centre. A bush track links the park to Folly Point, with a separate climb returning via the zig-zag track.
Primrose Park is off-leash under North Sydney Council's blanket parks policy. The exception: playing fields when organised sport is on, when dogs need to clear the marked area. Outside game days, it's one of the lower north shore's larger off-leash spreads, with bush, water and grass in reach.
