Overview
Squinters Brewing opened in Penrith in August 2022 as an independent Western Sydney outfit built to celebrate the M4 commuter — the name comes from the squint into sunrise or sunset that the motorway pulls from anyone driving east or west. The logo is a Blue Mountains sunset. The set-up runs a 800-litre brewhouse with ten rotating taps across beers, seltzers and a small wine list, alongside a playground, a fireplace and a family-leaning floor plan. The founding team brings together Matt Davey, Jarrod Nicholson, Mat Goss and Mitchel Robison.
Dogs are welcome throughout the venue, which tracks with the playground-and-fireplace community-brewery positioning. The Penrith location is an easy drive or train stop off the M4 strip, and the after-work commuter crowd fold dogs into the Friday wind-down without ceremony.
