Overview
The Redfern is a hundred-year-old corner pub in its namesake suburb. The ground-floor Public Bar only reopened a couple of years ago, after sitting shut for 35. The taproom now runs 26-plus beers, plus a spirits list that stretches further than you'd expect for a local. The kitchen plays it two ways: pub classics on the main menu, and a rotating 'secret pasta' slot for the regulars who bother to ask.
Dogs are welcome inside the Public Bar and in the partly-covered outdoor seating. That makes it a safe pick in rain or heat. Upstairs is Misfits — a separate dining room for when the brief shifts from pint-and-a-chat to a proper sit-down — though that floor isn't on the dog list.
