Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner West, Callan Park (Waterfront Oval) in Lilyfield is a large off-leash dog exercise area set on the harbour foreshore.
The oval is unfenced but expansive, with open grass and water views that make it a popular gathering place for local dog owners.
The off-leash space covers the grassy sporting oval, with shaded trees and paths around the edges. Its size makes it ideal for active dogs to run and socialise, while the waterfront setting adds to its appeal.
Because the oval is unfenced and close to busy roads and the water’s edge, reliable recall is essential. The grounds are maintained for sport and can become muddy after rain. Facilities are limited, so owners should bring their own water and bags.
The park links directly into Callan Park’s wider foreshore paths and is close to the Bay Run, providing longer walking options. Cafés in Rozelle and Leichhardt are nearby for post-walk stops.
Callan Park is best suited to energetic, social dogs that enjoy large open spaces in a lively, community setting.
Callan Park is managed by the Inner West Council.
