Peanut Butter — Fairy Spread

Overview
DogYog Fairy Spread Peanut Butter is a shelf-stable dog-safe spread made from roasted peanuts topped with coconut sprinkles coloured using natural plant-based powders. The ingredient list is limited to peanuts and coconut, with no added flavourings or preservatives. Peanuts provide the base of protein and fat, and coconut contributes medium-chain fatty acids and a textured finish.
Intended for use on lick mats, inside enrichment toys, or as an occasional novelty treat rather than for any specific functional benefit — it is a simpler formulation than the functional variants in the range. Contains no added salt, sugar, or xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Not suitable for dogs with peanut or coconut sensitivities.
Ingredients
Peanuts, Coconut Sprinkles.

Groundnut, Arachis Hypogaea, Earthnut, Goober
Peanut is a legume derived from the plant Arachis hypogaea, commonly cultivated for its edible seeds. In pet food, peanuts are primarily included as a source of plant-based protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins. Peanuts are used in their natural, whole or ground form, rather than as extracts or isolates, to provide nutritional value and palatability in premium pet diets.
Peanut is included as a palatable protein and fat source to enhance flavour and nutritional value, appealing to both pets and consumers seeking recognisable ingredients. It also serves as a label-friendly addition that can support marketing claims of natural or wholesome content.

Desiccated Coconut, Shredded Coconut, Cocos Nucifera, Coconut Flakes
Coconut sprinkles are finely shredded or flaked pieces of dried coconut flesh, typically derived from the fruit of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). In dog food, they are used in their processed, dried form rather than as fresh coconut. Coconut sprinkles provide dietary fibre, medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), and small amounts of vitamins and minerals. When included in moderation, they can support digestive health and provide a source of energy, but excessive amounts may contribute to gastrointestinal upset or excess fat intake in some dogs.
Coconut sprinkles are included in dog food formulations primarily to enhance palatability and visual appeal, which can help differentiate products in the market, though they offer minimal nutritional benefit to dogs and are mainly used for marketing and consumer perception.
