Overview
Located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Dumaresq Reserve in Rose Bay is a timed off-leash area. Dogs may be off leash between 4:30 pm and 8:30 am, and at all other times they must be on leash.
The park is known for its narrow foreshore beach access with harbour views, a grassy strip above the shoreline, and proximity to Rose Bay village.
Owners should know that the area is unfenced, so effective recall is essential. The beach is shared with other users, and conditions may be tight at high tide. Times when dogs must be leashed are enforced by council.
The reserve is a short walk from local cafés in Rose Bay and close to ferry services; it connects to the Rose Bay foreshore path for scenic walks.
Dumaresq Reserve is best suited to confident dogs that enjoy water access and open edge-of-harbour settings, especially during off-peak hours.
Dumaresq Reserve is managed by Woollahra Council.
