Norfolk Hotel

The Norfolk is a Redfern corner pub doing proper Mexican street food through Ricos Tacos — cochinita pibil, beef birria, chicken tinga — plus a house schnitzel with a tortilla crumb and birria gravy that reads like a menu bet gone right. The drinks lean toward mezcal and cocktails alongside beers and wines, and there are four rooms upstairs if you need them.

Dogs are welcome in every area of the venue with water bowls on hand — the pub's own line is 'we love dogs' — and the covered patio is the easiest place to park a pup on a hotter afternoon. Kids are welcome until 9:30pm, which pulls a broader crowd through the door than most Redfern locals.
