The Salisbury has been on the same Stanmore corner since 1899, privately run for its entire life and handed to new owners in late 2023 — who brought new menus without messing with the fundamentals. The pub runs across four distinct areas — beer garden, the Hall, the Loft, the Public Bar — plus a booth section that has its own rules. The kitchen sticks to comfort classics, and live music through the week pulls regulars back most nights. The whole place carries the laid-back, family-friendly energy the Inner West specialises in.

Dogs are welcome on-lead in the beer garden, Hall, Loft and Public Bar; the Booths are a no-dog zone. Staff keep water bowls flowing, which has made the Salisbury one of the busier dog pubs in Stanmore on a warm weekend afternoon.
