The Beacham

The Beacham is a three-level Darlinghurst bar that has been trading since 1867 — originally the Ice Hotel, then the Beauchamp Hotel from 1900, and now rebadged with the contemporary clipping. The vibe sits somewhere between a cocktail lounge and a classic inner-city pub. Pool tables, multiple bars, and a covered rooftop garden that catches the afternoon sun. The clientele skews mixed gay-and-straight — a long-held reputation, and one the venue has actively kept alive through its refurbishments.

Dogs are welcome inside the bar and on the upstairs rooftop. Water bowls are provided. It's a rarer combination than it sounds: a Darlinghurst pub rooftop with a dog policy that extends beyond the outdoor furniture.
