Pyohex® Medicated Shampoo

Overview

Dermcare Pyohex Medicated Shampoo is a topical antibacterial shampoo from Australian veterinary skin care company Dermcare, formulated as an aid in the treatment of superficial bacterial skin infections in dogs. The active ingredient is chlorhexidine gluconate at a concentration of 3%, which has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against bacteria commonly found in cases of superficial bacterial dermatitis, including Staphylococcus pseudintermedius. Studies indicate that the antibacterial activity of chlorhexidine gluconate is optimised at this 3% concentration.

The shampoo removes dirt, scale, and excess oil from the skin while reducing bacterial numbers associated with skin disease. It is intended for use under veterinary guidance and pairs with Pyohex Medicated Conditioner, which prolongs the antibacterial action and replenishes moisture after bathing.
