NexGard

NexGard is a monthly chewable flea and tick treatment for dogs, originally developed by Merial and launched in 2013 as the first oral flea and tick product in the isoxazoline class. In 2017, Boehringer Ingelheim acquired Merial's animal health division in an asset swap with Sanofi valued at approximately $12.4 billion, bringing NexGard under the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health portfolio.

NexGard's beef-flavoured chew kills fleas within 8 hours and provides protection against paralysis ticks, bush ticks, and brown dog ticks for a full month. It also treats and controls demodectic mange, sarcoptic mange, and ear mites. Available in weight-specific doses for dogs from 8 weeks of age.
