Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner East, Embarkation Park in Potts Point offers an off-leash space with some of the best city views.
The park is unfenced and set high above Woolloomooloo, creating a peaceful green escape surrounded by apartments and harbour outlooks. Its elevated position and community feel make it a popular local gathering place for dog owners.
The grassy area is modest in size but open and easy to supervise, with seating and shaded spots under established trees. Pathways wind through the park, giving dogs room to explore while owners enjoy the outlook across the city and bay.
Because the park is unfenced and sits close to busy urban streets, dogs with strong recall are best suited here. The grass can become worn in places, and there are no dedicated water facilities, so bringing your own is recommended.
Potts Point cafés, bars, and restaurants are just steps away, making it easy to combine a dog outing with a coffee or meal. The park’s location also connects well to walking routes through Woolloomooloo and the Domain.
Embarkation Park is best suited to small and medium dogs, or those comfortable in lively, built-up areas.
Embarkation Park is managed by the City of Sydney Council.
