Mountain Goat

Mountain Goat runs a 155-seat Newtown taproom above an on-site nanobrewery — the Melbourne-headquartered Richmond outfit's first interstate venture, opened in October 2020 in a converted Enmore Road furniture warehouse. The Sydney-exclusive Newtopia Pale Ale is the house brew. Goat regulars like Hightail Ale, Steam Ale and Summer Ale rotate through the remaining taps. The kitchen runs a full pizza and share-plate program, and the beer garden pulls a bigger share of the traffic than the indoor taproom once the Inner West sun turns on.

Dogs are welcome inside where space allows, and through the beer garden. Staff keep water bowls opposite the bar. The site slots into the Newtown-Enmore walk alongside Young Henrys, Willie the Boatman and Batch Brewing within a flat 25-minute stroll across the Inner West.
