Overview
A Spanish Revival roadhouse built by Charles Wymark in the 1930s, Pasadena once ran as Church Point's post office, general store, garage and Saturday-night ballroom, where big bands played to Pittwater weekenders. The building closed in 2009 and sat idle until Paul and Sheridan Peterkin took it on, reopening in late 2018 after a full restoration and fit-out. General manager Jordana Shawyer, formerly of The Boathouse Group, runs the current operation with head chef Petr Buchel, whose résumé includes Barbuto and Sails at Lavender Bay.
Dogs on leads are welcome across the waterfront lawn and outdoor seating, which looks directly across to Scotland Island, McCarrs Creek and the fringe of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Buchel's Mediterranean-leaning menu runs to cured kingfish with jalapeño, burrata with beetroot, fish and prawn linguine, grilled octopus and Moreton Bay bugs in citrus butter. Boat moorings sit out the front for arrivals from Scotland Island.
