Malaseb® Medicated Shampoo

Overview
Dermcare Malaseb Medicated Shampoo is a topical antibacterial and antifungal shampoo from Australian veterinary skin care company Dermcare, formulated for dogs and cats. The active ingredients are chlorhexidine gluconate (20g/L) and miconazole nitrate (20g/L), which provide combined antibacterial and antifungal action. It is indicated for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis associated with Staphylococcus pseudintermedius and Malassezia pachydermatis infections, and as an aid in the treatment of dermatophyte infections including ringworm caused by Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
The shampoo removes scale, degreases the skin, and reduces the population of cutaneous micro-organisms that primarily or secondarily cause dermatitis. It is intended for use under veterinary guidance as part of a medicated bathing protocol. Dermcare recommends pairing Malaseb with Pyohex Medicated Conditioner to prolong antibacterial activity and replenish moisture after bathing.
