Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner West, Ewenton Park in Balmain provides a small foreshore reserve with a designated off-leash area.
The park is unfenced and has a relaxed, scenic feel, offering grassy open space with harbour views. Its modest size makes it a convenient everyday option for nearby residents rather than a major destination.
The off-leash section is grassy with shady trees and benches, and it links directly to the foreshore path, allowing owners to extend their outings along the waterfront.
Dogs are permitted off-leash from 4 pm to 10 am during non–daylight saving time, and from 5 pm to 10 am on weekends and public holidays during daylight saving. At all other times, dogs must be kept on-leash. As the reserve is unfenced and close to the water and surrounding streets, reliable recall is important. There are no dog-specific amenities, so owners should bring water.
The park is within easy reach of Balmain’s shops, pubs, and cafés, making it a convenient neighbourhood stop.
Ewenton Park is best suited to smaller or calmer dogs that enjoy quiet foreshore environments.
Ewenton Park is managed by the Inner West Council.
