Overview
Located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Lighthouse Reserve in Vaucluse is an unfenced off-leash area where dogs are permitted off leash at all times.
The reserve overlooks the coast and offers a broad, scenic outlook, especially toward Macquarie Lighthouse.
Lighthouse Reserve is known for its coastal walking path, seating areas, solar lighting along the paths, and views over the ocean and rocky shoreline. Parking is available nearby via Old South Head Road.
Owners should know that the off-leash status applies at all times, signage is present, and dogs must be under effective control. Dogs are prohibited from children’s playgrounds and must observe the 10-metre rule near playground equipment under NSW regulations.
The reserve is close to Vaucluse shops, cafés, and cliff walks, and offers a coastal atmosphere with views that draw locals and visitors alike.
Lighthouse Reserve is best suited to dogs that are calm yet energetic, enjoy walks in open coastal spaces, and have strong recall.
Lighthouse Reserve is managed by Woollahra Council.
