Henley Park

Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner West within the Canada Bay region, Henley Park in Concord has been designated as a permanent off‑leash dog area following a successful trial and council approval in 2020. It has a community‑friendly atmosphere and is popular with local dog owners.
The off‑leash zone covers the main lawn area of Henley Park, excluding the fenced children’s playground. Since the trial, council has installed signage, bins, dog waste bags and improved access through a new fence along the Flavelle Street boundary.
In 2022, council completed a review that led to new tree and barrier planting around the corner of Flavelle and Pitt Streets to enhance safety and park usability.
As the area is unfenced (apart from the boundary along Flavelle Street), it's important for owners to maintain control of their dogs and respect park users. The open layout invites play while the added planting provides natural separation over time.
Henley Park is located on Flavelle Street in Concord. It is within walkable distance from local homes and easy to access via nearby streets. The mix of green space and improved boundaries make it practical for short daily walks or casual outings.
This park suits confident, social dogs that respond well off‑lead, and owners who value a local, informal space with thoughtful community improvements.
