Hopsters Cooperative Brewery

Hopsters is Australia's first brewing co-operative, a member-owned democratically run brewery that opened a taproom in an Enmore fruit-shop conversion in 2020 after four years building out the co-op model. 850-plus members hold shares in the outfit, and a roster of member-volunteers helps staff the bar and host the events calendar. The taproom runs 13 taps of in-house beers, wines and spirits — the house pale ale, the Enmore lager and the Griffo XPA as the core line-up — alongside a kitchen that shifts with the season.

Dogs are welcome at Hopsters, and the brewery keeps a stash of kangaroo chews behind the bar for visiting regulars. The co-op ethos carries through: the bar is built to be used by the people who own it.
