Freeze Dried Whole Sardines Dog Treats

The Nosh Project

Overview

The Nosh Project Freeze Dried Whole Sardines Dog Treats are a single-ingredient treat made from whole sardines, freeze dried without heat to preserve their naturally occurring nutrient content. Sardines are a small oily fish providing omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), calcium — contributed by the bones when consumed whole — and vitamin D. The freeze-drying process concentrates these nutrients while removing moisture, producing a shelf-stable treat without the need for preservatives.

These treats are produced from human-grade ingredients in a human-grade Australian facility. As sardine is the sole animal protein, they are not suited to dogs currently on a fish-protein elimination trial. The whole-sardine format includes bones, which soften considerably through freeze drying; however, owners should supervise consumption, particularly for dogs that tend to eat quickly or in large pieces. Not suitable for puppies under six months of age. Portion as part of daily caloric intake.

Summary

Whole sardine is a small, oily fish sourced from marine environments and used in its natural, unprocessed form. As an animal-derived ingredient, it provides high-quality protein, essential omega-3 fatty acids, and vital micronutrients. The inclusion of whole sardine supports healthy skin, coat, and cognitive function in pets, while also delivering a natural source of calcium and phosphorus from edible bones.

Manufacturer Benefits

Whole sardine is included as a nutrient-dense animal protein and omega-3 fatty acid source, supporting both the nutritional profile and marketing appeal of the product. Its use allows manufacturers to highlight a recognisable, high-quality ingredient that appeals to health-conscious consumers.
