Cony's takes over Cronulla's Surf Lane from Thursday evening, when the daytime cafe Grind shuts its espresso machine and morphs into a South American tapas bar. Owner Cony builds the menu around ceviche, handmade Chilean empanadas, pisco sours and sangria, with a weekly Thursday taco night priced at $15 margaritas and a weekend bottomless brunch kicking off at 12:30pm. Next door is Dazy Dog, a pet-essentials shop — make of that what you will.

Dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor seating along the laneway. The venue sits inside Cronulla's growing laneway dining cluster alongside Blackwood, Bianchini's and Blackwood Pantry, a short walk from the beach esplanade. Friday happy hour runs four to six with twenty percent off food and cocktails, which tends to fill the footpath tables by sunset.
