Overview
Located in Sydney’s Inner West, Federal Park in Annandale provides a large off-leash area alongside Johnstons Creek and the Glebe Foreshore.
The park is unfenced and has a lively, community atmosphere, with wide grassy fields and open sightlines that make it easy to watch dogs at play. Its size and waterside location make it one of the more popular local dog parks.
The off-leash space is expansive, with plenty of room for dogs to run, chase, and socialise. Shaded seating is scattered throughout, and nearby parking adds convenience. The park also connects directly to the Glebe Foreshore Walk, offering extended walking options for owners.
Because the area is unfenced, strong recall is important, especially with the creek and nearby roads. The surface is mostly grass, which can become muddy after heavy rain, and while some water taps are available, bringing your own bowl is a good idea.
Federal Park is within easy reach of the Tramsheds precinct, which offers dog-friendly cafés and restaurants. The wider foreshore area links with other parks, creating one of Sydney’s most popular walking and recreation corridors.
Federal Park is best suited to energetic and social dogs that enjoy large open spaces and busy community areas.
Federal Park is managed by the City of Sydney Council.
