Overview
Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter, located in Mulgrave, provides shelter, care, and rehoming services for stray, lost, abandoned, and surrendered animals.
This location is the official pound for Hawkesbury City Council, Penrith City Council, The Hills Shire Council, Hornsby Shire Council, and Cumberland City Council, managing the care of lost and stray animals on their behalf.
Adoption
Adoptable animals are listed online, with adoption fees covering microchipping, lifetime council registration, desexing, and their first vaccination. To adopt, submit an enquiry through the animal’s profile and schedule a meet-and-greet at the shelter.

The shelter accepts donations of essential items like dog coats, towels, blankets, and other in-kind goods. Monetary donations are also welcome—donors wishing to contribute financially can arrange this directly with shelter staff.
