Overview
The Pyrmont Point Hotel has been pouring drinks on a Pyrmont corner since 1850 — originally the Lands End Hotel, through the Royal Pacific era, and trading under its current name since 1996. A third floor went up in 1913 in Edwardian style, and a recent renovation has stripped the building back to its original Pyrmont sandstone façade. Family-owned since 2010, the pub runs 16 craft taps alongside pub classics and a seasonal bistro menu — steak sandwich, Caesar, parmi, and the fresh seafood you'd expect next door to the Sydney Fish Market.
Dogs are welcome in the large outdoor area out the back, John Street Square, with market umbrella seating. It's a family-friendly corner where the kids play on the square while the dog naps under the table. For a pint-and-sunshine Pyrmont afternoon, it's the heritage option.
