Shark Island Brewing Company

Shark Island Brewing Co. has run out of a Kirrawee industrial unit since 2015. The small independent brewhouse takes its name from the iconic Cronulla reef break that sits a few kilometres east. Beers take their names from regional waves and breaks — the line-up rotates. Food trucks roll through Friday to Sunday, and the taproom programs live music and pet-drawing events through the calendar. The brewhouse sits near the Kirrawee train line, making it an easy Sutherland Shire stop without the car.

Dogs on leash and kids are always welcome. The Shire dog-owner circle treats the place as a regular weekend stop, and the brewery's community identity leans hard into the local surf crowd that prompted the name in the first place.
