Overview
2 Halfs is a small, family-run Alexandria operation built around a brewhouse and a copper still under the same warehouse roof. The still — named Zora after head brewer Kirk's mother — turns out gin, whiskey and eastern European spirits including rakia and schnapps, while the tap lines run traditional European beer styles that most Sydney craft bars skip: Czech pilsners, German kellers, Belgian blondes, tripels and the occasional hazy IPA. Kirk learnt the craft through the VLB Brewmasters course in Berlin after thirty years of home brewing, and he and partner Dragana Bozinovski opened the taproom in 2021. Pizza is made on-site, and there are grazing boards for groups.
Dogs are welcome inside the taproom, confirmed on the venue's own listings. The space is bright and high-ceilinged, wrapped outside in a large mural, and sits in an industrial cluster of Alexandria breweries including Yulli's and Bracket.
