The Dry Dock Public House and Dining Room

Balmain's oldest continuously licensed hotel, established in 1857, welcomes dogs throughout both the classic Public Bar and the premium Lounge Bar. The recent transformation maintained the historic bones while introducing a dedicated Dining Room and Sports Lounge, creating distinct spaces for different moods.

The Public Bar is comfort-focused with sixteen beers on tap, and Ella the Blue Heeler — a beloved site companion during the renovation — now has her portrait permanently displayed. Dogs are treated as part of the fabric here, not an afterthought. It's a neighbourhood institution that understands continuity, character, and the role your dog plays in both.
